9 Tips to Get on Track for a Successful Fall

Can you believe we’re almost halfway through June? It’s crazy, right? If you haven’t figured out what you want out for the last quarter of 2019 – now is the time. Are you running around in different directions not getting anywhere? Don’t worry! Here are 9 tips to get you on track for a successful fall.

Zoom in

Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. Easier said than done – however creating a clear vision is the key to success.

Dare to dream

If you’d finish out strong, what would you have done this year? Picture yourself on New Year’s Eve. What would make you jump for joy if you’d made it happen?

Pick your goal(s)

Don’t confuse yourself with too many. Pick one goal. If you want more, limit yourself to 3, but make sure you pick. Your mind will tell you ¨you should do more¨. Don’t listen. Pick 1–3 goals only.

Stay in the zone

Live in the vision every day of what you want, while on your way to your goals. Put up reminders everywhere so you won’t forget your Why!

Turn your vision into goals

Set a deadline for when you need to decide on a goal. I suggest June 30. If you wait till after summer vacation, you’ll lose precious implementation time in August and September. See below how you can get some help with this.

Don’t play small

Watch for any ¨default decisions¨ or plan-making that you already know you can fulfill. Go big or go home. Where are you ¨ticking off your boxes¨ – and where are you working towards a vision?

Make it BIG

One of your goals needs to be something really big, something almost unreachable. But it’s still something you know you could grasp and get – if you only had the guts …

Get it down on paper

Writing down your goals makes it easier to commit to them.“I’ll contact these people (potential clients, collaborators, mentors). I’ll create some real affiliations with them. I’ll figure out how to go deeper with them and create real connection between us.I imagine this is possible and this and this … ¨

Face your fear

The ¨dream form¨ is hard if you’re a taskmaster and likes to just ¨tick off the boxes¨ versus grappling with the legacy you want to leave. Watch “sorting paper clips” – i.e. ¨looking busy¨ but not really dealing with the right things. What will get you to the finish line? To the fulfilment of your dreams?

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” –  by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles
